Comments about Festool DF 500 Q Domino Joiner Set in T-Loc Systainer 2:
This thing should last forever. I made a bunch of large pyramind obelisks. Never would have used tenons before buying this tool. Each obelisk had 48 tenons and it took about an hour to make them ALL! And all dead center and tight! Absolutley Amazing. Now I know why folks will pay so dearly for this wonderful tool.

Comments about Festool DF 500 Q Domino Joiner Set in T-Loc Systainer 2:
This joiner is quite easy to use once you get used to the metric system. I purchased it along with the systainer that contains all the different dominoes this joiner uses. I would recommend if you purchase this unit buy the one that has the "trim stop & cross stop set", it's worth the extra $ you will spend up front as well as purchasing the systainer with the different dominoes it uses. It's worth it. I have only used this on one project so far but it did the trick in edge joining three boards. The joints were so exact I had very little sanding to get the table top square. I just have one problem....what do I do with the biscuit joiner I have?

Comments about Festool DF 500 Q Domino Joiner Set in T-Loc Systainer 2:
This product is thoughtfully designed, with attention to accuracy, ease of use, & user comfort. I took it out of the box and was making mortise and tenon joints in less than an hour. The joints are just the right fit. I was able to figure out all adjustments intuitively. Nice, long cord, I like the power switch action. Lots of improvement over the ol' biscuit joiner. Plenty expensive- I guess you get what you pay for though.

Comments about Festool DF 500 Q Domino Joiner Set in T-Loc Systainer 2:
I was at first reluctant to buy this tool. About three years ago we got a job that this could be utilized on and I bit the bullet. This machine has far exceeded my expectations. The engineering that goes into these machines is cutting edge. The quality, fit and finish of these tools justify the pricetag. Use this for any joinery you can think of where you want a blind joint, glue joint aand etc.
The bitterness of poor work is remembered far longer than the price of quality.

Comments about Festool DF 500 Q Domino Joiner Set in T-Loc Systainer 2:
Used this to do some long miters with plywood that would have been difficult to line up with another method. The dominoes guided the pieces together while tightening the clamps. Also the cut tolerance setting is a huge plus.

Comments about Festool DF 500 Q Domino Joiner Set in T-Loc Systainer 2:
Just got this a week and a half ago, and already have used it on three jobs. It has a little learning curve, like most Festool machines, but it is absolutely worth it. If you haven't yet, this is a tool that might make you go metric, or at least become comfortable having it as an option. After a brief transition it becomes so clear why it is the logical choice in much of the world.
My biggest concern with the Domino was strength of the joint, and I am satisfied. I think it will be a rare very large piece that requires anything the domino can't do. It's so fast that adding a second tenon in a large joint is no problem.
I strongly recommend this machine.

Comments about Festool DF 500 Q Domino Joiner Set in T-Loc Systainer 2:
The Domino was my first Festool purchase and I couldn't be happier with it. I use it to join everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. From mitered casework to joints in butcher block countertops. Easy to setup an offset joint too for a table apron for instance. The integrated scale makes it a no brainer. I would certainly suggest using a vacuum or dust extractor when operating this tool. I did without for over a year but now that I have a Festool dust extractor I would not go back. One other point of interest: the slots are PERFECTLY machined. So much so that the fit can be rather tight. Keep a mallet or hammer close by when inserting Dominos. In one word - Snug(and that's a good thing).

Comments about Festool DF 500 Q Domino Joiner Set in T-Loc Systainer 2:
I have used the Domino to replace biscuits throughout my furniture projects. Face frames are quick and easy. I have also used it to make mortises for slats in a mission desk. It worked great. The ability to register the mortises with respect to each other with the cross stop set and to a surface with the fence or bottom of the tool makes it quick and easy to make multiple mirror image mortises without laying out each one.
The only drawback I have seen so far is that the 5mm bit is fragile. If you plunge too quickly you can break the tip off, which I have done.
